How this works
About
A directory of practical resources for people moving abroad, built so that every claim on it can be checked.
Why it works this way
Most link directories rot. They accumulate SEO spam, they list things nobody has opened, and their descriptions are generated from the page title, so the directory adds no information beyond the title list you could get from a search engine.
The three rules here follow from not wanting that. Descriptions must say what a resource is good for. Nothing reaches the site without passing the same schema the validator uses. And the site's own coverage report is public, including the gaps.
How it is built
Every link is one YAML file in version control. Those files are the single source of truth: the generated Markdown, the statistics, and the site you are reading are all derived from them. Nothing is typed into two places, so nothing can quietly disagree with itself.
The site is a static build. There is no database, no runtime, and no client-side JavaScript beyond what the browser needs to open a menu — the whole thing is files on a CDN. A build fails if a link points at a category that does not exist or a date is in the future, so a broken reference cannot ship.
What is not done yet
Every description currently in the directory was machine-drafted from the source page and has not been read by a person. Each one is marked awaiting review until it is. That is the largest outstanding piece of work on this site, and it is the reason the review count is published on every link.
Countries with no reviewed links still have pages, because "is there anything for Bhutan?" deserves a real answer rather than a 404. Those pages are marked noindex and left out of the sitemap — an empty page that ranks is worse for everyone than one that does not.
People
73 links, 14 countries, 10 categories, and 7 people who have contributed something. 3 regional groupings are in the registry to keep the country list navigable.

Corrections and licensing
Resources rot. If a link here is dead, has turned into something else, or has a description that no longer matches the page, that is a bug worth reporting on GitHub and the fastest kind to fix.
Site content is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. The linked resources belong to their own authors and are not redistributed here — every link is a pointer, nothing more. Nothing listed implies any affiliation or endorsement. The directory itself is open source on GitHub.
